We are working with a well-established family run freight forwarder and perishable cargo specialist looking to expand their team at their new facility near Lympne and are looking to recruit a number of Business Development Managers
You will need a minimum of 2 years Business development experience and must have experience of sales within a logistics/freight environment, ideally multimodal freight but sea & road freight knowledge would be a big benefit and experience of the perishables market would be even better!
As a Business Development Manager, you will have full responsibility for every account you win and the space to grow and develop each account through building excellent relationships, continuously expanding industry knowledge, and ensuring maximum profitability.
Responsibilities will also include:
- Winning new business via cold calling, market mapping and customer meetings
- Ensuring that each account's potential is maximised through recognising and pursuing undeveloped areas
- Planning their own sales pipeline and earning potential
- Securing enough new business to justify company growth into certain geographies
- Building and maintain strong customer relationships
- Monitoring customer and account service
- Reporting own sales activity
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Multimodal Freight movements
- Minimum 2 years sales experience in Ocean, Air or Road freight with a proven track record
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Ability to source own warm & cold sales leads
This role is 0900 - 1730 Monday to Friday with 2 days in the office and 3 days in the field.
Competitive salary with uncapped commission.
