Here at Modus Vivendi we have a fantastic opportunity to join our expanding team as an experienced Heating & Mechanical manager where excellent opportunities for progression are available.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management with sound knowledge of mechanical systems including heating systems. You will also have project delivery experience able to run projects from the initial survey to handover. Providing leadership, management, and development of project opportunities within the location. Based from our office in Maidstone, working on projects predominantly located in Kent, but occasionally in London and the Home Counties.
About the role:
· Managing the day-to-day operational aspects of the projects ‘end to end’. Activities to include (but not be limited to) surveying, procurement, business development, sub-contractor management, site manager duties and handovers.
· To identify, specify project opportunities and delivering secured projects.
· To oversee and assist to deliver all Mechanical installations to completion on time and within budget and to the satisfaction of all parties and ensure all opportunities for strategic development are exploited to deliver an increased turnover and profitability.
· Design and specification of new and replacement systems including production of drawings, material lists, estimates, budgets, and timescales. To include but not limited to ASHP, UFH.
· Ensure a positive cashflow through managing upfront agreements/relevant payment schedule and submissions of timely invoices/applications for payment.
· Organisation and management of Mechanical projects while working closely with the Managing Director to further expand our portfolio & presence within residential and commercial environments.
· To assist in creating a sustainable business growth strategy, through development of project financial plans for revenue and profit delivery to both ongoing and prospective projects.
· To build strong relationships with private clients, sub-contractors, developers to ensure solutions are provided to meet our quality expectations can be delivered.
· To identify, reduce and manage all risks associated with each project.
· Ensure the provision of healthy & safe working conditions is undertaken and that both clients and company health and safety policy/process is effectively implemented and regularly reviewed and complies with current regulations.
· Ensuring technical knowledge and compliance is continually kept current through policies and procedures
Knowledge, Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a development or similar role
- Previous management experience is preferred
- Gas ACS Domestic qualified + Commercial would be preferable but not essential
- Knowledge of air source heat pumps (ASHP), installation and surveying of new and replacement systems essential
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure is essential
- Competent IT literacy and an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and be self-motivated / ambitious
- Ability to work to the highest quality standards with attention to detail and high personal standards of presentation
- Ability to think laterally, finding an appropriate solution
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and approachable attitude to clients, contractors and other members of the team
- Excellent time keeping
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS card
- MCS knowledge would be beneficial but not essential
Job Type: Full time, permanent
Salary: £45,000.00 to £50,000.00 (dependent on experience) + Package, including performance related bonus and company vehicle / company vehicle allowance upon successful completion of the probation period.
