The Client

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a female Rehabilitation Support Worker to join our dedicated team in supporting a 17 year old client with her day to day personal care, nutrition, mobility, therapy and psychological needs.

Our client lives in her fully adapted family home close to Sittingbourne.  She has a lovely sense of humour, enjoys face to face contact, participating in different sensory activities indoors and outdoors, going on days out, looking at animals and wildlife as well as enjoying all things Disney related!  She also loves shopping and playing on the bouncy castle.

Our client suffered a brain injury and as a result has severe physical and cognitive impairments. She has cerebral palsy, is non-verbal and requires full support with enteral feeding, all personal care as well as assistance with intensive therapy sessions for her fine motor skills and physical movement.

The Rehabilitation Support Worker


You will need experience in working with children or young adults with disabilities and preferably have supported individuals who have suffered brain injuries. An NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable.You should be patient, caring, supportive and engaging and passionate about helping to meet the client’s day to day needs as well as to ensure a safe and fun environment for her to engage and play.You will have an interest in assisting with the delivery of therapy sessions (with the help of a remote therapist) including supporting in hydrotherapy sessions in the hydro pool.You will be required to attend and support the client on family holidays (with another team member).You will be required to attend hospital appointments, alongside a family member.You will want to develop your skills by learning and undertaking clinical tasks.You should have basic IT skills and experience of handling equipment to ensure the client can access a full range of resources, crucial in her day-to-day life.You need to be a driver and have your own car to take our client to activities, appointments and to and from school when needed.You will need to attend and complete all mandatory training.Successful DBS Disclosure and referencing required.
Rehabilitation Support Workers are required to wear a uniform and specific PPE

 

Shift Times

We are looking for a Rehabilitation Support Worker to work 24 hours per week across a variety of shifts from Monday - Sunday.  Day shift hours are between 08:00 and 20:00 with waking night shifts from 20:00 to 08:00.

 

Rates of Pay

Day Shifts:

Monday to Friday        £13.00 per hour

Saturday & Sunday    £15.00 per hour

Bank Holiday              1.5 times normal hourly rate

Waking Night:

Monday to Thursday   £14.50 per hour

Friday to Sunday        £16.00 per hour

Bank Holiday              1.5 times normal hourly rate
