Director of Finance & Operations - Qualified Finance - Maidstone - Not for Profit Sector Experience - c£65k

Your new role
This role draws together a number of tasks that are crucial to the businesses financial and operational performance. This is a post that requires a broad mixture of skills and experience derived from a breadth of hands-on experience. The Director of Finance and Operations will be responsible for use, and further development, of the mechanisms to manage, control and monitor the financial performance and legal compliance of the Group composed of the parent charity and its 3 subsidiaries. The Director of Finance and Operations has day-to-day overall responsibility for the operations of the Trust and will also have responsibility for operational compliance, quality control, resilience and monitoring and evaluation of support services across the Trust as well as any other tasks assigned to them by the Chief Exec.

Main Responsibilities
* Ensuring the financial sustainability of the Trust and its subsidiaries.
* Oversee production of annual budgets - working in conjunction with the Finance team and in consultation with section heads.
* Ensure timely production of monthly management accounts by Finance team; and lead on their analysis at Senior Management Team meetings.
* Oversee the production of tailored financial reports for the Board.
* Ensuring that the Trust fulfils its regulatory and legal obligations.
* Ensuring that the Trust has the systems and financial resources it needs to operate effectively and efficiently.
* Ensuring that the organisation has the right management systems and structures to carry out its work effectively, accountably and safely, and that professional standards are maintained.
* Ensuring that all assets and resources of the Trust - land, buildings, equipment including vehicles, materials and cash - are properly managed and secured, and that plans are in place for their maintenance, replacement or improvement, as appropriate.
* Apply a strong commercial approach to strengthen the financial element of the Trust's business strategy, working with the Chief Executive, SMT and Board, assisting in the planning process and providing high-quality organisational development to support the delivery of strategic objectives.
* To lead, develop and manage the Finance and Operations team including the Head of Finance, IT Manger & GDPR Officer, Facilities Manager, H&S Officer & Governance Support Officer.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be an accomplished senior finance professional and proven operational leader with demonstrated experience in a senior decision-making role, ideally from within the not for profit or charity sector. You will need to be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with a demonstratable commercial acumen and a proven track record in leading and managing the operational performance of a business alongside, legal and regulatory compliance, quality, resilience, processes reviews, monitoring and performance evaluation.
