We have a great opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to start with immediate effect working with Ashford Borough Council.
You will carry out the maintenance of Borough amenities safely and in-line with work instructions, ensuring a quality service is provided. This will include grounds maintenance operations, street works, and cleansing duties across the Borough, as well as some commercial activity. Duties will also include supporting local events as well as: elections, emergency planning, collection of stray dogs, decorating retail outlets and refurbishment/ maintenance of street furniture.
Working hours until August are 45 hours a week; Monday to Friday 0700-1630 reducing to 40 hours a week from August; Monday to Friday 0730-1600. Please note that some tasks and activities may involve early and late starts and weekend working.
This is a 6-month temporary role initially but may progress to a permanent opportunity for the right person.
Previous experience within a Grounds Maintenance/Landscape environment is preferred. You will need to be hands-on, happy to work outside in all weathers and physically capable.
A valid driving licence is essential.
