Hays are working on a fantastic opportunity supporting a new partnership client with the recruitment of multiple Support/Care staff for one of their services in Ashford, Kent. Our client is committed to providing an outstanding level of care that allows their service users to thrive. Your new role
Together we are recruiting for multiple Support Worker roles to work in a residential service for young adults with Learning Disabilities, Complex needs and some Challenging Behaviours. As a Support worker you will work closely with the clients to provide unmatched levels of supervision, support and choice. Using Person Centred Active Support and Positive Behavioural Support Strategies to develop self-help and daily living skills, driving forward their independence.
Duties will include:
* Monitoring and assisting residents with all aspects of their daily life.
* Supporting young adults/children with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, which may include challenging behaviour.
* Assisting residents as appropriate with all aspects of personal care, taking responsibility for collecting information regarding care plans.
* Attending reviews and meetings concerning residents, and any other related tasks as required.
* Take responsibility by following tailored plans of assistance for mobility, communication, social interaction, nutrition and physical care.
This is a temporary to permanent opportunity. For a 12-week period you will work under Hays before transferring over to our client directly. The 12-week period we'll be seen as probationary period to allow time to determine if this is the correct role for you and if you are the right match for the service.
What you'll need to succeed
Ideally, we are looking to speak experienced Support/Care workers with a minimum of 6 months experience working in a similar role. However, our client offers an impressive and extensive training programme which does open the door to those with no previous Health and Social Care experience to apply and interview providing you show the right attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable criteria
* Minimum 6 months experience working in Social Care
* Existing DBS registered on the update service
* NVQ Level 2/3 Health and Social Care
