Your new Head of Estates job role

To provide senior management responsibility for the day-to-day operations of estates, major build projects, technical advice, estate development and funding residential, commercial and operational property and development schemes.

Head of Estates duties and responsibilities:

* Strategize for the planning of continued development, management, maintenance and utilisation of the estate.
* Lead project management for development projects.
* Provide professional guidance, advice and support for the senior management team.
* Establish and manage budgets for external provision of consultancy, agency and services.
* Identify potential and recommend alternate funding sources.
* Budget control of projects £1m upwards.
* Ensure building regulations and health and safety are adhered to.
* Estate development planning including feasibility studies.
* Excellent stakeholder communication and management.

What you'll need to succeed:

* Experience in a similar role, ideally in a public sector organisation or charity.
* Knowledge of project management.
* Excellent stakeholder management.
* Commercial acumen.
* Practical, hands-on approach.
* Strong written, communication, mentoring and decision-making skills.
* Good negotiation skills
* MRICS
* Degree in Estate Management / Construction
* Estates / Facilities Management qualification

Desirable not essential:

* Auto CAD
* M&E qualification
* NEBOSH qualification or equivalent.
