Are you experienced in managing international partnerships and placements in a higher education setting?
This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in supporting the University of Kent in delivering upon the objectives of our International Partnerships Strategy and to manage our study abroad provision.
Joining a small and dedicated team, you will draw upon your knowledge and experience in international partnerships, and your excellent communication, interpersonal and organisation skills, to take responsibility for developing relationships with our existing partners and managing the provision of international study placements (for both outbound and inbound and short-term study exchanges).
The post is full-time and fixed term to cover for the previous post-holder who is on an internal secondment until December 2022.
As International Partnerships Officer (Study Abroad) you will:
establish new and maintain existing relationships with the University’s international partners ensuring they are developed to their full potential (this may include overseas travel);
devise and implement an agile Study Abroad Strategy to respond to the changing international education landscape and maintaining Kent's recruitment of incoming exchange students;
support with the institutional response to international and UK crises and manage related pastoral support provision for students.
To be successful in this role you will have:
a first degree or equivalent qualification or relevant experience of working in a similar role;
experience of writing strategic plans and setting and meeting objectives in relation to International Partnerships;
the ability to work on your own initiative and collaboratively in teams.
The International Partnerships directorate supports the University in realising its strategic objectives through enhancing and deepening international partnerships with institutions that share Kent's founding principles and values and are strategically advantageous for Kent's advancement. It oversees links with over 400 institutions around the world including over 200 student exchange arrangements, and is responsible for around 600 incoming and outgoing exchange students each year.
