Goldhawk Associates are working to support a local Mid Kent-based firm appoint Accounts and Audit Semi-Senior. They are looking for an experienced part qualified AAT/ACCA accountant with ideally a minimum of 2-3 years` previous experience of working within a practice and who is looking for a new challenge to become part of a small but established accounts and audit team.

They are open to offering a study package or are happy to consider someone who is qualified by experience rather than studying towards being exam qualified. This role requires someone who has experience of working with small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses, offering accounting and audit services.

They are an established local firm who have a varied client portfolio in the South East and they provide a wide range of financial, tax, and advise on both their business and personal affairs.

They are looking for someone who is keen to work within a small and friendly team. Ideally, you will have experience in both accounts and audit, however, they can accommodate someone with more of a leaning towards one of these skill sets and there are possibilities for progression for the right individual.

You will be responsible for looking after a client portfolio and providing services including:

Preparation of annual accounts and corporation tax preparation
Management accounts and bookkeeping and payroll (mostly Sage/Xero).
VAT returns
Knowledge of Sage
Knowledge of IRIS (not essential if alternative)
Assisting clients on management accounts/bookkeeping/reviews
Experience of non-company accounts

They are looking for someone with demonstrable technical knowledge and commercial awareness with strong written and verbal communication skills/client contact skills. It is key that you have good organisational/administration skills and time management, attention to detail, and the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.

Some experience in the following areas would be useful but not essential

Audit experience
Company Secretarial (Annual Statements, changes, documentation)
Some knowledge of VAT
Some knowledge of Payroll
Experience of salary/dividend planning
Some knowledge of Income Tax Returns
Charity accounts experience
HMR&C/ROC filing experience

It is key that you have access to your own transport, in turn, they are offering ongoing study support/CPD/Training, pension, and development.
