Vacancy : Assembly Store Operative
Location – Marden, Kent, TN12 9QJ
Due to a further increase in business, an exciting opportunity to experience working within the
Burtons Group of Companies has arisen and we are looking to expand the team. Burtons has been
established for 40 years and is the leading company in manufacturing and supplying veterinary
equipment in the UK. The successful individual will report direct to the Assembly Supervisor.
Job Title:
Assembly Store Operative
Job Summary:
Working within the assembly workshop and production store, taking delivery of goods from outside
suppliers, as well as internal departments and processing them.
Locating and labelling finished components and parts. Picking works orders and packing items for
dispatch. Supporting and reporting directly to the Assembly Supervisor.
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Receiving parcel deliveries and raw material by hand or forklift truck
• Correctly identifying goods and checking for damaged or missing items
• Taking goods to the appropriate storage bench, rack or area
• Keeping a careful record of the stock on the Assembly management system
• Operating a forklift or reach truck to move and rearrange stock
• Ensure products are stored safely and labelled correctly
• Picking and packing of sales orders and works orders
• Organising the dispatch of finished goods to main warehouse
• Cleaning and maintaining the Production stores and Assembly areas
• Following work place health and safety rules
Qualifications & Skills:
• English, Maths and IT
• Communication skills
• Team working skills
• Forklift truck experience/licence
Pay & Benefits:
• Salary dependent upon experience
• Full time contract, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Discretionary bonus scheme
• Countryside-based workshop within walking distance of mainline train station
• Excellent opportunities to train and progress
• 33 holiday days per year (inc. Bank Holidays)
• Contributory pension scheme
