Systems Architect - Maternity Cover

ROLE DESCRIPTION
Our client is looking for a Systems Architect to join their team to cover a maternity leave. Working closely with the Business Systems Manager and the Systems team this role will deliver the capacity for long-term planning and development, as well as grappling with the more complex areas of the business. You will be responsible for how things work across the business, championing integration and automation, as well as how well the systems perform day-to-day and in times of stress.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Working alongside the Business Systems Manager you will ensure that all workflows and applications work in harmony and deliver on business requirements
Change and project management using Agile methods, promoting continuous improvement within the business
Drive performance through the use of baselining and monitoring, responding to events and issues in a proactive manner
Provide 3rd line support to the Systems team
Promote automation and digitisation across the business, identifying solutions to enable this and working with the Systems team to deliver continual improvement
KEY ACTIVITIES
Manage the performance of key business applications - primarily ERP and database solutions
Work across multiple projects allowing the Systems team to implement “finished” applications and projects
Advising the Systems team on architectural design and providing strategic guidance on how the process should work
Be responsible for the design, development and integration of systems, working with suppliers to deliver a dependable development pipeline
Help develop a robust testing and implementation process for system changes and updates
Occasional out-of-hours support (approx. 1 week in 12) and managing upgrades and period-ends (once or twice a year)

• 3+ years of experience as a Systems Architect or similar role
• Worked with ERP or integrated systems
• Proven track record of project delivery
• Strong technical skills

a. SQL querying to an advanced level
b. DBA skills
c. Business/systems analysis skills
