Venrec are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, an established training company based in Sittingbourne, Kent for a Skills Bootcamp Learner Engagement Advisor to join their growing team.

This role will be a part of our client’s Skills Bootcamp team which will be responsible for delivering funded training to learners who sign up for the government's HGV Skills Bootcamp - which is hoped to be a solution for the HGV driver shortage

No experience of HGV driving is required as this role is not the delivery of training, it is entirely focused on the recruitment of learners to the program and subsequently helping to mentor, and motivating learners to achieve the successful outcomes of training completion and a new job as a HGV driver.

Learner Engagement Advisers will support learners throughout their entire Bootcamp journey, from initial application, acting as a mentor/sounding board through the various stages of training and assisting them to arrange an interview and hopefully a successful job outcome with prospective employers.

This is an exciting project which will lead to long term opportunities within our client’s company.

This role will be based in their Sittingbourne head office and may potentially involve some travelling throughout the UK - in which case expenses will be paid.

The role will be supported by a Team Leader who will be on hand to assist.

The role entails:

• Recruiting and mentoring learners who will be attending HGV training courses, this training lasts between 1 to 3 weeks. The mentoring will involve guiding each learner from initial enquiry, through their training journey to successful employment as a HGV driver.
• Regular contact with other project stakeholders, such as referral partners (Job Centres and National Careers Service) and potential employers - these contacts will be face to face, via video-conference and telephone calls
• Following up and closing on warm learner and employer leads
• Generate new leads through - visits, telephone and other focused marketing initiatives

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• A confident approach with people and the ability to "think on your feet"
• The ability to motivate other people and to motivate yourself
• Experience working within recruitment or training would be beneficial
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to make good quality notes and accurate records
• Good time management
• An outgoing personality
• A full clean licence
• This role will require an Enhanced DBS
• No previous experience of HGV driving is required as your role will be focused on motivating and ensuring that there are successful outcomes.

The salary package

• A basic salary of £24,000
+ £5 per learner completing their theory + £7.50 per learner job outcome. This is a realistic potential bonus of between £4,375 to £8,750 (350 to 600 learners @ £12.50). Which will be paid throughout the year upon successful outcomes, a typical learner journey to outcome is 4 weeks
• Statutory holiday (20 days + Bank Holidays)

The core hours of this position will be Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm, but in order to facilitate learner contact, it will involve some flexibility to allow for calls to take place on Saturday morning and early evening during weekdays. Ideally, you would have a quiet place to work from home where you will be able to make voice and video calls
