Junior Claims Adjuster - Lloyds Market

We have a fantastic opportunity to join a market leading, international insurance group that underwrite via a Lloyds syndicate and company.
Purpose of role
Reporting to the Department Claims Manager. Undertaking claims handling activities in respect of lower value claims (below usd25,000) emanating from the Cargo & Specie underwriting portfolio and the Reinsurance Treaty underwriting portfolio. Assisting Marine Cargo & Reinsurance manager with the handling of mid-high value claims from both portfolios.
Knowledge of Cargo & specie is not required as there is a full training program.
Main areas of responsibility
* Review and analyse lower value claims when first presented.
* Consider coverage for lower value claims and referral to Liability claims adjusters/manager where appropriate
* Where coverage, consider all aspects of the claim including liability and likely quantum, appoint adjusters, lawyers or other service providers from approved panel as appropriate and report internally on any claim where appropriate
* Set appropriate reserve at the earliest possible juncture
* Handle claim through its life to settlement on most favourable terms or, where appropriate, trial or other formal dispute resolution process

* Analytical, strategic and decision making skills and ability
* Organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise work.
* Has a willingness to learn, develop and take on responsibilities within the team

* Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Analytical thinker who demonstrates sound judgement and decision making
* Has strong attention to detail at all times
Education and experience
* A level/Graduate education level
* Possess some experience within a claims related role within the Lloyds London market - broker, syndicate/company, MGA.
