A unique opportunity has become available at a well-known leisure attraction in Hythe, who are offering a rewarding role for the successful individual to train and develop in all areas of maintenance and engineering within the business, in order to keep the facility open and safe for members of the general public to enjoy, 7 days per week.

The ideal person:
There is no ideal person for this role as the client remains totally flexible and is willing to offer full on the job training and support, for the right person.
For example, this could be absolutely ideal for a college leaver who has studied Engineering or construction, who is happy with manual type work, with a willingness to learn, who is not afraid of hard work, getting their hands dirty, or working outside!

Equally, this could suit someone semi-retired, perhaps looking to get back into the workplace, but just as important, our client is looking for someone with a great attitude, good communication skills and a genuine desire to learn and commit to what is a fantastic career opportunity, within an established and successful business.

What does the role entail:
With the safety and wellbeing of customers an utmost priority for this client, you will work alongside their small, friendly maintenance and engineering team, learning about delivering maintenance services, that ultimately keep the facility open and safe for the general public to use.

This is very much a hands-on role, carrying out general maintenance, where your range of duties will include anything from shovelling ballast, inspecting machinery and general grounds maintenance. You will check all kinds of equipment, to ensure they are in good working order – including plant equipment, tools and materials but will receive on the job training and guidance, enabling you do to this, correctly, with working safely and efficiently at the heart of everything you do.
A willingness to receive training on driving purely “on site” vehicles that do not require a driving licence, would be considered helpful.

If you have got what it takes, our client will provide you with all the training you need, including protective clothing, education, qualifications and support, in order to succeed in this great trainee role.

Salary/Package:
An attractive starting salary of £18,600.00 per annum is available, based on a 40-hour week, with additional increments available, after in-house qualification for key tasks have been successfully completed.
