We are looking for a highly motivated team player to deliver the Council’s allocations scheme fairly and consistently, so that residents are able to access the affordable housing of their choice. If you are ambitious and wish to develop a housing career in a rewarding role we would like to hear from you. This is a part time position, working 20.5 hours per week from Monday to Wednesday.
Working closely with our customers and partners through our choice-based lettings scheme - Kent Homechoice, you will deliver the council’s allocations scheme and help customers secure their new homes, while ensuring that housing register applications are checked and audited to ensure that our policies are met.
You will provide a key role in securing sustainable housing solutions for the wide spectrum of Maidstone’s residents from a young family just starting their housing journey, to those looking to move into a new and innovative extra-care housing scheme.
Your experience of working in a challenging front line customer service role will help you to remain calm under pressure while delivering the highest levels of customer service. You will also have experience of maintaining accurate records and producing statistical information using a variety of IT packages.
The Council considers this to be a customer focused role and the ability to converse at ease with customers adapting communication style to suit differing audiences and provide advice in accurate spoken English is fundamental to the role.
Maidstone Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expects all employee and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you feel you meet the requirements of the post and are ready for a new and exciting challenge, then we’d like to hear from you.
This is a part-time position on a permanent contract.
