M&E Technician required for FM business in Kent, salary up to £36k
Your new company
My client is a large Kent based Property division of an acute NHS Trust. They are looking for an ambitious and dedicated M&E Technician to look after the day-to-day service and maintenance of one of their hospital contracts in Kent
They provide estates and facility support to 5 locations across the Kent region covering over 200,000 square meters of estates. They provide a range of hard and soft FM services to their NHS contracts.
As the M&E technician you will be part of the larger estates team reporting into the maintenance manager. Your role will have you working alongside a team of technician who work throughout the trust but on the main you will be in one of the five sites.
Your new role
A static role, delivering service in all areas of mechanical and electrical maintenance, compliance, and reactive works. The role is varied by nature, with tasks ranging from minor repairs through to full and complete service shutdowns.
The job responsibilities.
* Actively participate in the operation of the Technical Solutions CAFM system
* Will include maintenance, attendance to breakdowns and inspections to specific maintenance schedules and in line with KPIs and SLAs.
* To have a full understanding of the range of Mechanical Services which will include
* Boiler and steam systems
* Hot and cold-water systems
* Low voltage electrical systems
* Fire alarm and detection systems
* Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
* Medical gas systems
* Drainage and wastewater systems
* Carry out tasks without supervision on the above systems, with the ability to analyse problems
What you'll need to succeed
* Awareness of asbestos, legionella and COSHH
* Have an in-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
* Experience of working in an Acute Hospital, School, or commercial setting
* Have a thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
* mechanical or electrical bias is acceptable.
* Having taken some form of City and Guilds,
* BTEC qualification or a recognised course.
* Qualification in either a mechanical or electrical discipline.
* There is also a requirement to work within a shift and on call rota as the service is provided on a 24/7 basis. As the role will be required to work at other sites, the individual must be able to drive and hold a full valid licence.
What you'll get in return
Salary - £31,500-£36,000, use of company car, overtime pay, travel expenses, tools provided and 25 days holiday with scope to buy or sell up to 10 days holiday
