Trainee Cover Supervisor Job(s)

Salary: £18000 - £24000 p/annum (£80.00 - £110.00 p/day)
If you are interested in working in a secondary school but lack the experience, then a trainee cover supervisor role could be ideal.
Pearson Whiffin Education can support new candidates into the market by offering trial or taster days or by offering teaching assistant or LSA work in order to develop experience. With such high demand for teachers and cover supervisors work is plentiful and varied in both type and location. There is opportunities for candidates seeking any type of role.
A cover supervisor is a classroom based role supporting a qualified teacher or covering for a qualified teacher in their absence. You will not need any subject specialism although if you have it will be a benefit. You will offer support across all areas of the curriculum and with age groups from year 7 to year 13. You will deliver pre-planned lesson material and supervise behaviour during class whilst ensuring that a safe and inclusive learning environment is maintained. You will not be expected to plan, prepare, mark or assess work. For those candidates with a passion for working with children but without the qualifications this can be an ideal role.
The successful candidate could be a teaching assistant, a HLTA, a sports coach, learning mentor, pastoral support worker or someone with equivalent experience supporting groups of secondary age students, adults or even primary aged students. Any candidate can be considered.
In order to succeed in this role you will be able to demonstrate:
Ability to work with groups of students of secondary age (11 - 16)
Strong behaviour management
Ability to follow policies including behaviour management and rewards
Flexibility in approach to classroom delivery and learning material
Willingness to embrace new technologies in the classroom
