About the role: Strood Academy has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Pastoral Manager to join us as soon as possible. Our successful candidate will demonstrate strong organisational skills whilst managing a variety of tasks, will be very personable and approachable, and will have the ability to build good working relationships with our students. On a daily basis you'll be in contact with students, various members of staff, parents and external agencies - this is a busy and fast-paced role so we'd love to hear from candidates who are keen to be part of our collaborative and supportive environment. It is essential that our successful candidate has previous pastoral experience.

The working basis for this role is 37 hours per week during Term Time plus 1 additional weeks inset. This role is offered on a maternity cover basis of up to one year with the possibility to extend thereafter.

The improvement in academic performance has been driven by a talented and committed workforce, the hard work of our students, and support from parents and our community. Our new buildings in Carnation Road were designed in partnership with Nicholas Hare and built by BAM as our main contractor at a cost of £26m. They opened in September 2012 and have outstanding learning environments and outside play areas as well as fantastic sports facilities. The buildings reflect our education vision of creating a mature and purposeful educational environment where children of all abilities can learn and thrive.
