Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm Friday 8am - 1pm

£12-£14 per hour

Our client is a large manufacturing organisation based in Hythe, they are looking for a Tool Maker to join their team. Responsible for the repair and modification of tools. Ensuring that all work is carried out to a high standard meeting the needs of both design and functionality.

Job competencies, Key Skills and Experience

* Repair, manufacture and modify tools, jigs and fixtures
* Assist in the continuous improvement of tooling
* Use of various machine tools
* Attention to detail
* Excellent organisational skills
* Good communication skills
* Ability to problem solving
* Flexible approach

Key accountabilities

* Manufacture new tooling
* Carry out tool repairs as required
* Modify tool repairs in accordance with design and customer requirements
* Assist in continuous improvement ideas for making tooling more reliable
* Ensure serviceability and safety of all equipment and machines used within the section
* Assist in the training of apprentices and trainees as required
* Responsible for the quality and control of work
* Responsible for the health & safety in the area
* Make necessary decisions to achieve the required results within agreed timescales, policies and procedures
* Responsible for the cleanliness of your work area
* Attend daily tier meetings
* Carry out other duties that fall within the general scope of the post which may be required from time to time
