Eurotunnel manages, maintains, and operates the Channel Tunnel Fixed Link Concession between Folkestone and Coquelles, France. Opened on 6 May 1994, the Fixed Link is a rolling the Channel at 140kph, in 35 minutes. It also allows the running of third-party passenger and railfreight trains. The advantages of the Channel Tunnel are security, reliability, speed, frequency, and respect for the environment.
In 2020, thanks to rigorous management and strong commitment from our teams, Getlink delivered a solid operational and financial performance, in an exceptional context marked by the
Covid crisis and Brexit.
A short-term position for up to 12 months has arisen in our Freight Sales Department to support our Sales Managers in delivering a high level of customer service to our Eurotunnel freight and commercial van customers. This is an ideal opportunity for an individual who is looking to develop their career in the Transport/Logistics Industry.
Responsibilities will include managing and maintaining a portfolio of accounts and responding to all freight enquiries by telephone and e-mail efficiently; also providing commercial and technical
assistance to internal contacts.
Skills/Requirements:
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with a professional telephone manner.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confident user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Fluency in English – written and verbal, a second language would be an advantage.
- Proactive self-starter
- Highly organised structured and methodical
