Mechanic / Engineer
Based in the Dartford area
£29,000-£33,000
Full Time
3-week shift pattern (between the hours of 04.30 - 18.30)
The role of a Mechanic / engineer involves the preparation of vehicles for MOT, routine safety inspections, diagnostic work, general repairs, servicing, and parts replacement. The successful candidate will have the ability to work safely, efficiently and reliably to a high standard in a busy and varied workshop.
Duties & Responsibilities:
.To diagnose vehicle faults and specify the correct method of repair and parts to be used within the most cost-effective manner
.To carry out vehicle servicing in accordance with the manufacturer's specification
.To carry out routine vehicle inspections maintaining vehicles to specified DVSA standards and in a roadworthy condition
. To prepare and present vehicles for MOT, making sure first-time pass
. To complete all relevant paperwork to a high standard
. To ensure all parts are correctly ordered and booked out
. To attend on-road vehicle breakdowns
. To carry out vehicle road testing
. To maintain and manage our fleet to a very high standard, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance
Key skills required:
. Must be reliable and conscientious and will have experience in servicing mid-size vans or minibuses.
. A minimum NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering (i.e. City & Guilds level 1 & 2)
. Must be fully conversant with the safe operation of workshop equipment
Requirements:
. Must be capable of working to a high standard while meeting deadlines
. 1 year of mechanical engineering experience
. Valid UK driving license
