HOB Mechanical Services Ltd is looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team. You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time having secured a number of large projects.
We are interested in speaking to Estimators that have a solid working history within the construction, manufacturing or engineering sectors. Your main duties will be to perform financial estimates, cost analysis and reviewing labour and material requirements. You will be expected to contribute significantly during the preparation of tender bids.

Remuneration Package:
• Competitive salary, negotiable according to experience

Mechanical Estimator: The Role:
We are looking for a mechanical estimator to join our estimating team and work alongside the Director providing quotations and tender bids predominately within the education, commercial, leisure, and light industrial sectors with typical projects being between £50,000 to £2,000,000+ in value.
The successful candidate should be comfortable with receiving tenders, complying a complete and thorough tender, to be reviewed by the team as required, proactively following up submitted tenders and building successful relationships with clients.
Mechanical Estimator: Key Responsibilities:
• Carrying out material take-offs
• Obtaining sub-contractor and supplier quotations
• Utilising estimating software (Ensign) to build quotation
• Reviewing tender information to highlight any necessary tender clarification
• Develop cost plan and budget estimates
• Attend site visits and pre/post tender interviews
Mechanical Estimator - You:
Desirable:
Qualifications in any of the following:
• Mechanical trade course such as City & Guilds with time served experience
• HND/HNC in mechanical or public health engineering
Essential Skills:
• Ability to work on own initiative and also as part of a proactive team
• Ability to deal with high work volumes and prioritise accordingly
• Practical, can-do approach and professional when communicating
• Excellent time management and ability to multitask
• Good work ethic with an energetic approach
• Flexibility and commitment
• Technical knowledge of current mechanical regulations.
• General understanding RIBA design stages.
• Knowledge of current market costs for mechanical works.
• Proven track record in mechanical estimating.
