SUPPORT WORKER / WAKING NIGHTS SUPPORT WORKER, St Marys Bay, Kent

A warm welcome awaits you at our Residential Care Homes; Bright Care and Palm Care. Supporting up to 10 adults across both sites with learning disabilities and physical disabilities.
Bright Care is calm Residential Service located in a detached house within a quiet residential area. The service users enjoy spending time in their beautiful garden via their wheelchair ramp, going for strolls along the seafront and accessing their local amenities.
The Service Users at Palm Care are very active and enjoy fishing, adding to their fantastic garden (in fact one of the Service Users has been marked as Chief Gardener) – the most recent addition being a bowling alley, cooking and socialising.
35 / 37.5 / 0 hours per week
£9.00 per hour

Main duties and responsibilities:
To participate in the day to day implementation of individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
To maintain effective communication and liaison with service users, families and others whilst respecting appropriate confidentiality.
To support service users with the preparation of Meals, Laundry duties, cleaning and social events.
To maintain accurate notes and records as and when required.
To work as part of a team to provide high quality care.
Personal Characteristics:
Diploma (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care or be willing to work towards one.
Experience in supporting adults with challenging behaviour, physical disabilities, learning disabilities and/or mental health issues.
The ability to keep calm under pressure.
The confidence to work alone or as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills
The passion to work with vulnerable adults
The desire and commitment to achieve high standards of safeguarding.
