The University of Kent Wellbeing team is looking to recruit Specialist Wellbeing Mentors, providing hourly paid support to students. Pay band: £25 - £30 per hour. We are looking for a Specialist Mentor to work Monday - Friday at our Medway campus.
Specialist mentors provide non-medical 1:1 support for students with mental health difficulties/autistic spectrum disorders and/or ADHD. This includes supporting students to develop; coping with anxiety, time management skills and organising their workloads.
Our Specialist Mentors need to have in depth knowledge and experience of supporting difficulties around mental health and other related issues and an understanding of the demands of study in higher eduation; and be able to recognise when there is a need to refer to others.
Applicants for the role are required to be educated to degree level or equivalent, have training in Counselling Skills, comprehensive training in adult autism and current membership of a professional organisation such as: BACP, UMHAN
Location: primarily Medway campus
