On Trade Customer Activation Manager: Role Reference: 31116

Shepherd Neame is Britain’s oldest brewer based in Faversham, Kent. As an independent family business we own and operate over 300 pubs and have a wide portfolio of beers and cider including Whitstable Bay, Bear Island, Spitfire, Samuel Adams and Singha.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of On Trade Customer Activation Manager within our Marketing Department.

The Role:
As our new On Trade Customer Activation Manager, you will lead and support the Trade Marketing strategy and activities for the On Trade channel and our pub estate in strong collaboration with the Brand Marketing, Sales and Pub teams. You will lead our events strategy to drive the growth among new audiences for our strategic priority brands such as Whitstable Bay, Bear Island and Spitfire.

The Responsibilities:

As our new On Trade Activation Manager, you will have overall responsibility for:
• Lead planning and implementation of On Trade activations for our portfolio with flagship Beer Business customers
• Lead a new approach to our Events strategy, in collaboration with the Marketing Manager
• Create “beer destination pubs” within our Shepherd Neame pub estate
• Work with the wider team to raise the profile of our London pub estate as the place for beer drinkers
• Lead On Trade activation of our beer, cider and hard seltzer portfolio across our pub estate
• Lead planning and implementation of channel POS in collaboration with Brand teams and Sales team
• Drive digital leverage of On Trade partnerships and activations to benefit our brand social media

Other key responsibilities and activities
• Develop and execute annual On-Trade activation plans with key customers in line with portfolio strategy in close collaboration
with marketing and sales teams
• Drive development of new brand campaigns in key customers
• Manage and control budget for brand activation campaigns
• Lead planning and implementation of ad-hoc brand activation based on needs from Sales team/customers
• Work closely with the sales team/key account to support key customers including local festivals and VIP tasting opportunities
• Work closely with our Pub Team to identify opportunities to drive brand awareness and trial

You will also oversee planning and execution of the annual Sheps Way customer conference each year.

What we are looking for:

Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

We believe that for you to be able to do this job successfully you need:
• At least 6 years of leading trade marketing campaigns in the On Trade
• Passion for the On Trade, pubs and experience in beer industry; hard seltzer experience advantageous
• Strong network in London On Trade
• Evidence of implementing digital On Trade campaigns
• Experience in events management
• A creative and entrepreneurial mind-set
• Strong communication and presenting skills
• Great social skills and is a great team player
• The capability to takes ownership and responsibility
• Good leadership abilities and is customer/consumer centric
• Off Trade activation experience desirable
• Kent or London based

Fulltime, 37.5 hours per week. 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday with 1 hour lunch (unpaid). This role however may require weekend and evening duties from time to time to meet the needs of the business.
