We are currently looking for a Class 2 driver.
Job Role: Mainly delivering locally for a busy pallet network. Nationwide dels/nights out occasionally if required.
Key responsibilities:
To drive vehicle safely, legally & efficiently.
To Comply with all drivers hours and Road transport Legislation.
To load/unload vehicle and maintain safety and security of load at all times.
To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately.
Plan and adapt routes as required and keep the office informed of any issues/concerns with load planning and routing.
To Operate all vehicle systems including tail-lifts.
To comply with all health & safety requirements, and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.
Person specification
Must be in good physical health and prepared to work flexibly as part of a team.
The candidate must:
Have a Good understanding of drivers hours legislation, tachograph procedures and all other related legal obligations required.
Be able to route plan and have map reading ability.
Knowledge of load restraint procedures.
Essential literacy and numeracy skills.
A commitment to deliver excellent customer service.
Work with minimal supervision and use ones own initiative.
Monday to Friday
Nights out as required, must be flexible for occasional Saturday and Sunday work as needed.
The successful applicant will start on a three month probationary period with the objective of becoming a permanent member of staff thereafter.
