Our client is looking to recruit an ambitious, commercially minded and analytical Trainee Accountant. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of accounting. Your initial focus will be on aspects of the balance sheet including responsibility for the fixed asset register.
What will it entail?
Assisting with the monitoring, analysing and reporting on project costs incurred by the business and its subsidiaries
Supporting and maintaining the fixed asset budget
Preparing all journals relating to fixed assets including asseting, disposals and depreciation
Helping with the preparation of schedules that form part of the tax computations
Contributing towards the monthly management reporting process, by preparing schedules, reviewing costs with managers and completing designated tasks within the reporting timetable
Assisting with the preparation of schedules where required for the annual external audit
Providing information within agreed timescales to all customers (both internal and external)
What skills and experience do I need?
Educated to degree level or equivalent
AAT qualified or equivalent
Experience of working in a finance function within a commercial environment
Advanced Excel
Excellent commercial sense, with the ability to analyse information from different sources, and make informed business decisions
Results orientated
Highly organised, analytical, logical and numerical, with the ability to work without supervision
Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail
Self-motivated, driven and conscientious
Ability to work on own initiative and prioritise workload, meet deadlines and delivery first-class customer service
Ability to work well and think clearly under pressure
