Packaging & Despatch Operator

My Client is the sole manufacturer of their product in the whole of the UK. They are now looking to recruit an experienced Packaging & Despatch Operator to operate packing plant, loading lorries/containers and filling of bags. You will assist with production requirements by feeding additives into the process and cleaning as and when required.

The Role: Packaging & Despatch Operator
Operate Packing Plant
Movement of goods and skips by FLT or using other plant equipment
Maintain the necessary records
Removal of pallets from the palletiser and placing them in stock in the required area
Ensuring the palletiser does not run out of pallets
Bulk loading of lorries
Loading of containers
Maintain a concise log of production completed
Maximise big bag production to achieve hourly / daily targets

Skills / Qualifications / Experience: Packaging & Despatch Operator
Fork lift driving licence - essential
Reach and counterbalance licence
Warehouse experience
Production experience preferred
Manufacturing experience combined with a process or technical qualification, preferred
Electrical and Mechanical qualification or experience preferred
Confident and articulate, with excellent communication skills
This is a flexible work shift, between 6am and 10pm, 37½ hrs per week
You will be asked to cover night shifts on occasions
