The School of Biosciences is seeking to recruit a Monitoring and Evaluation Manager who will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating progress in a new programme, Growing Kent & Medway (GK&M).
Growing Kent & Medway (GK&M) is a newly launched world-class research, innovation and enterprise cluster that supports growth in technology-driven horticultural production, food & drink processing, and manufacturing.
As Monitoring and Evaluation Manager, you will be key to the success of the project, working with all partner institutions as well as numerous collaborators that interact during the project. Communication and negotiating skills will be critical in this post and experience in working with complex financial and organisational structures will be required.
As Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for the Growing Kent & Medway Consortium you will:
• be responsible for monitoring and evaluating progress in the project
• develop monitoring plans for the entire 18-partner consortium, design specifications to capture outputs in the programme, and manage evaluations from start to finish
• will understand a wide range of evaluation methodologies, identify which are most suitable for specific programmes and ensure development and delivery of robust strategies for data collection and analysis
• liaise with partner organisations to collect data on project metrics such as financial and other uplifts in collaborating companies, success in working with individuals and enterprises in ‘hard to reach’ areas, and dissemination of best practice in the Kent and Medway regions
• will be responsible for organising the data and collating detailed reports for the grant funding agency, UKRI
To be successful in this role you will be/have:
• project management experience (or equivalent)
• Excel spreadsheet training
• sound experience and knowledge in monitoring and evaluating projects: process and impact evaluations, with knowledge of quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods
• experience of complex project management
The School of Biosciences is a vibrant, stimulating and welcoming environment for research and education within the Division of Natural Sciences. In REF2014, Bioscience at Kent was ranked 7th on the basis of ‘research intensity’, and the appointment of a range of new staff since 2014 has meant that research quantity and quality have risen still further. This is now an extremely active research environment.
The School of Biosciences is a welcoming and diverse environment that has been recognised with a Bronze Athena SWAN award. We are keen to enhance the balanced, inclusive, and diverse nature of the community within the School and would particularly encourage female candidates to apply for this post.
