Exciting opportunity to join a group of Children's homes as their new Compliance Manager

Ramsgate Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

The Compliance Manager will train and support managers as defined and delegated by the Responsible Individual. The post holder will work with nominated Home Mangers in order to support and assist them in the smooth running and provision of high-quality services. This role is to develop managers and homes to expectations, regulatory compliance, safeguarding expectations and to fulfil action plans. It is also to provide continuous improvement and development of Managers as well as assist managers and their staff in rectifying shortfalls and concerns.

Responsibilities:

* Work with the company's Managers in meeting the requirements of the role and their services meeting Ofsted regulatory standards to a Good level in all areas.
* Assist the Responsible Individual to manage and support residential services and Managers to demonstrate achievement of performance and activity targets.
* Practice oversight to embed a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring performance matters are dealt with and practice and culture are continuously reviewed and challenged for improvement.
* Assist the Responsible Individual in undertaking Home Manager development. Specifically, to support managers in advancing towards Outstanding in the definitions within current regulations and Social care common inspection framework (SCIFF).
* To assist in safeguarding investigations, reports and reviews as required.
* Build positive external relationships to inform the development of new business opportunities and uphold and improve the reputation of the company with all stakeholders.
* Assist in the training, performance and induction of new and first time Home Managers.
* To assist managers in the development of staff team working practices and competencies at each level. To include expectations of performance, communication, culture and conflict resolution for the good of placements and creating a positive, safe and engaging home for children to live in.
* Work with the Home management team to manage and motivate them, promoting development and effective team working through objective setting, coaching and mentoring at all levels as required.
* Lead, inspire and develop the roles and responsibilities of Home Managers. This is focused upon competence in outcomes for children, safeguarding and meeting Ofsted regulations and quality standards.
* To assist Managers and Homes to resolve shortfalls and areas for development raised in inspections.
* To undertake monitoring and review of managers and the homes performances in areas defined by the regulation 44, Ofsted inspections or the Responsible Individual.
* To play a key role in identifying shortfalls in management and the performance of homes and to assist in implementing corrective strategies, training or disciplinary actions.
* Attend and effectively contribute to Managers meetings.

Essential qualifications/knowledge

* Knowledge of children's homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
* Social Care qualifications
* Management training & experience
* Child related social care qualifications
* Knowledge of equal opportunities & diversity models
* Up to date knowledge of safeguarding Childcare and child protection practice
* Basic IT knowledge

Essential Experience

* Experience of managing services for children and young people meeting quality standards of care
* Experience of using childcare standards & best practice model to guide decision making
* Experience of translating policy into practice
* Thorough understanding of legislation and policy direction that underpins the provision of children's residential care
