The Best Connection are currently seeking Car Shunter drivers for our Hoo, Rochester based client.

The company itself specialises in the shunting of cars within a large compound.

Your typical day would involve commencing duties at 06:00 and finishing around 18:00.

Once you arrive at the site, you will need to report to the reception in order to obtain your instructions for the day.

You will be tasked with successfully maneuvering cars within a busy compound, following the clients instructions.

Please be aware that this isn't just a driving role. Candidates must possess a calm and meticulous attitude, as it is essential that cars are not damaged throughout the process of shunting. Candidates will be expected to complete rigorous inspections and vehicle checks, noting all scratches, scuffs and other damage, whilst taking every precaution necessary to ensure that vehicles remain undamaged throughout the maneuvering process.

Please be aware that the vast majority of the vehicles will be brand new, so it is crucial that they are operated in a safe, controlled and extremely careful manner.


Shift Pattern:

4 on 4 off


Pay Rates:

£10.22 per hour (Fixed rate)


Please note you will need to be over 21 for Insurance purposes and have had 2 years driving experience with a clean license.

Please note that this will be 4 on 4 off. Potential of Temp to Perm available resulting in going full time after 12 weeks.

Candidates must be physically fit, as you will be entering and exiting cars a numerous amount of times throughout the course of the day, as well as walking in a large compound in order to obtain the specific car. The majority of your day will be spent on your feet, in a fast paced environment.

Due to the large variety of cars the compound possesses, it is essential that candidates are comfortable operating both manual and automatic vehicles.

To be eligible for this position, you must possess the following:


- UK Driving Licence (No more than 6 points)
- Positive attitude
- Reliability
- Flexibility
- Honesty
- Own transport/accessible public transport
- Must be over the age of 21
- Held licence for a minimum of 2 years
- High level of communication
- Keen eye to detail
