Do you have experience of teaching at university level in the field of archaic and classical Greek culture and literature, and a strong commitment to personal excellence in teaching?
If you have the ability to deliver effective teaching in Greek and Latin from elementary to advanced level, this full time fixed term position (until 30 June 2023) as Lecturer in Classical and Archaeological Studies (Education, Scholarship & Professional Practice) could be just the opportunity you are looking for.
You willl be an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher, able to provide an excellent standard of education in modules that cover the study of the ancient world, including its legacies and connections beyond Greece and Rome. As Lecturer in Classical and Archaeological Studies, you will:
teach, convene and assess undergraduate and postgraduate modules in the areas of Greek culture and literature
undertake module administration and examining
undertake the role of Academic Adviser to students
conduct individual or collaborative scholarly projects
To succeed in this role you will have:
a PhD in Classics by 1 August 2021
a relevant teaching qualification (e.g. PGCHE) or equivalent evidence of teaching excellence
evidence of high-quality scholarship in the field of Greek culture and literature
a commitment to public engagement and impact activities
The Department of Classical and Archaeological Studies (CLAS) is part of the Division of Arts and Humanities at the University of Kent, in the historic city of Canterbury.
