We are looking to recruit an experienced butcher to fill a vacancy within our award winning butchers shop.

Typical working hours

Tuesday - Saturday 7:00am - 5:00pm (Closed Sunday and Mondays).

You will be part of a small team working in an intimate, busy, family run shop in the heart of the pretty Kent village of Matfield.

We pride ourselves on offering quality produce with a focus on provenance, sustainability and welfare. We always strive to offer a personal and professional customer service.

The ideal candidate will

- demonstrate good knife skills.

- have good knowledge of meat cuts, fresh produce and have a passion for food and cooking in general.

- show attention to detail, flare and creativeness in their food preparation and displays.

- be able to work as a team and support other colleagues.

- be flexible in their day to day work load and manage multiple tasks in a clean and efficient way.

- be fairly computer literate, in order to help operate our invoicing software, respond to emails and social media etc.

- be able to serve our customers professionally and courteously, building a positive rapport with many. Maintain a high level of service ensuring the customer receives sound advice and guidance helping them to make informed purchases.

- maintain good personal and workplace hygiene. Be part of the whole teams efforts to maintain HACCP records and enforce hygiene practices and policies.
