Team Leader

HOURLY RATE OF PAY: £11.03

WEEKLY AVERAGE HOURS: 36.37

Shift: Two week rolling rota working one alternate day at the weekend.

WK1: Monday, Friday and Saturday

WK2 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

WEEKDAYS - Spilt Shifts 7.30am to 10am then 3.45pm to 10pm

WEEKENDS - Long Day - 7.30am to 10pm

LOCATION: Perry\'s Close, Faversham Kent

About the Role: TEAM LEADER

Our Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring our high standard of person-centred care is maintained.

Working hands on alongside their team providing guidance and support; helping them to develop in their roles and supporting a positive working culture.

With the ability to communicate and build relationships with people from all walks of life. Liaising with families, health care professional and other stakeholders to ensure that the best care is provided.

Have knowledge and experience of administering medication. Deal with challenging situations quickly, resolving them by being able to think on their feet.

Making sure all service user and staff records are maintained.

Ideally, you will already be an experienced Team Leader that has led a committed team of experienced and new to care staff within a service for people with autism.

TRAINING PROVIDED:

o Online Care Certificate and evidence portfolio (accept transferable evidenced certificate)
o 5 days virtual induction covering autism and care compliance
o 3 days Studio III
o Epilepsy
o First Aid
o On the job observation and assessments


About the Service: Perrys Close

Perry\'s Close is a residential service located in Faversham. The building itself is unique, we have 6 on suite bedrooms as well as communal living and dining areas to suit the needs of our 6 residents. Age range varies from 23 to 60 years old. We have 5 male residents and 1 female.

Some of our residents also have additional needs such as epilepsy, myotonic dystrophy and sysphagia.

We have a resident that is double incontinent so full support with personal care is always given.

Activity wise, with Covid we try and do as many activities as we can safely, such as walks which may include a picnic and indoor activities such as cooking, baking, gardening and arts and crafts. When allowed, and safe to do so, other activities will resume, like going to the cinema, bowling and trips out to places such as Leeds Castle.

Tasks / Responsibilities of a Team Leader:

The Team Leader role may include but not be limited to:

o Providing direct supervision, coaching, and mentoring to support staff Identify staff training needs
o Manage all finances relating to the service in accordance with policies and procedures
o Establish and maintain effective communication with families and relevant others
o Ensure relevant parties are regularly updated through regular, planned reviews and reports
o Support individuals within the community in activities such as bike rides, long walks and shopping
o Ensuring written records are correctly maintained
o Administering medication
o Uphold their privacy, confidentially and dignity
o Assisting individuals with personal care and hygiene
o Household management tasks cooking, cleaning etc.
o Working with individuals who can display challenging behaviours hurting self or others, running away, throwing things, swearing, shouting.


o Working with and supporting individuals with additional needs, such as epilepsy, pica, learning disabilities.
o Will include lone working and sleep Ins
o Drive an individuals mobility car or service vehicle Manual Licence required
o Supporting individuals to maintain relationships with family and friends
o Handle money to shop, going to the bank etc

o To form good working relationships with other members of staff across different services.
o Understanding each individuals abilities and support needs
