This successful hi-tech UK manufacturing company now requires an experienced and confident Financial Controller to take it forward. The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experience with an SME manufacturing background. You will be someone who is keen to play an integral and proactive part of the future of the company

This role has many aspects and responsibilities, as you would expect for a Financial Controller position. It is a hands-on finance role, but it also has distinct project work, technical challenges and the requirement to be part of the strategic decision-making team.

Produce management accounts and management information for discussion with the Directors. You will need to be proactive and make informed decisions
Report on cash flows, forecasts and budgets
Produce statutory accounts
Manage VAT and other compliance returns
As a manufacturing company, you will be responsible for costings, maintaining tight control over WIP and reviewing raw material suppliers.
There are real opportunities with this role that will stretch you and give you the chance to shine. The Managing Director is looking for someone who will challenge the current way of doing things, review systems and procedures and keep looking for the best way.

As part of its growth strategy, the company is introducing new IT systems. Your first project will be to recommend and install a new accounting package to replace the legacy system. The second project will be to review, test and recommend an MRP system. Previous experience in integrating an MRP system would be a distinct advantage. Future growth will require your involvement in reviewing and recommending capital projects.

This Financial Controller position requires someone who will make a real difference. You will likely have worked within an SME manufacturing company and achieved success there.
