Interim Head of Finance | Remote working | £55k
A highly successful, privately owned services business with ambitious plans for growth, require a technically astute, Interim Head of Finance to join them for a period of 9 months, possibly longer. This role can be performed remotely with occasional travel to the office (when it is allowed).
Reporting to the CFO, you will play a key role in partnering with the business in the development and execution of the operational plan. You will have managerial responsibilities for 5 staff, covering all the key elements of a finance function, ensuring the team maintains good processes and practices, meeting deadlines and delivering the required financial reports for the business.
Responsibilities:
• Overseeing the preparation of monthly financial accounts for the Group and ensuring their accuracy and timeliness
• Providing analytical commentary to the monthly Financial Report
• Ensuring the monthly payroll runs are complete and accurate before submission to HMRC and making payments to employees
• Working with the key stakeholders around the business to produce a quarterly financial re-forecast
• Preparation of monthly cashflow analysis and forecasting
• Regular review of variances against forecasts to ascertain explanations
• Assisting all areas of the business with ad-hoc financial support, including the creation of financial models such as ROI calculations
People spec:
• Fully qualified Accountant (CIMA or ACCA) with 5+ years post qualified experience
• Experience of working within an Industry accounting role would be helpful
• A high level of commercial awareness and being able to apply this to decisions/ proposals
• Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
• Insatiable curiosity and track record of delivering value
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise under pressure
• Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
• Excellent organisational skills and ability to deliver to specific deadlines
• Proficient in data modelling
• Advanced Excel skills
• Able to work simultaneously on many projects
• Great analytical and logical problem solving skills
• A true team player and strong collaboration skills
