We are seeking to appoint a lecturer who can help us to deliver an excellent standard of education across a range of undergraduate programmes in computer science.

You will prepare and deliver lectures, practical classes, small-group teaching, project supervision and student support, and will have responsibility for setting and marking assessments and exams.
The appointee will help us to build on our success in the last REF exercise when we were ranked in the top quartile of 89 Computing departments across the country, coming 12th by Research Intensity.

We invite applications from candidates with research interests that can complement or enhance the School’s existing research strengths. This spans a broad range of computer science and is organized into 4 large and active research groups:
Computational intelligence
Cyber security
Data Science
Programming Languages and Sytems

As Lecturer in Computing you will:

deliver and develop excellent teaching and learning support material across a range of modules to achieve the highest standards of student experience in a variety of settings
collaborate with colleagues in the School on course development, delivery and assessment, taking on appropriate management and administrative responsibilities
undertake research of the highest quality within the School of Computing to enhance the University’s next REF submission

To succeed in this role you will have:

PhD in a discipline relevant to computer science or similar professional experience
ability to effectively educate and assess undergraduate and postgraduate students across a wide variety of computer science modules
recent track record of publication in leading computer science journals or conferences.
