W.E Roberts is offering the exciting and challenging opportunity for a candidate to join our busy Transport team in our corrugated cardboard manufacturing firm based in Northfleet as a Vehicle Load Planner.

The right candidate will work closely with the Production Schedulers, Customer Services, Production and Logistics teams to plan efficient and on time delivery schedules for our customer deliveries. Good communication and the ability to build strong and positive relationships is therefore a key competence for this role.

As the right candidate you will be someone with excellent organising and planning skills and the ability to adapt to frequently changing circumstances. The fast-paced nature of this role necessitates the need for resilience and the ability to stay calm and make balanced decisions under pressure.

The duties of the role are as follows:
Responsible for…
• Complying with health and safety legislation and other company Health and Safety procedures at all times;
• Creating and maintaining schedules for customer deliveries; maintaining the most efficient delivery plans possible following changes to production, manpower or other unforeseen circumstances;
• Ensuring good relationships are maintained with suppliers and drivers;
• Ensuring good communication with relevant stakeholders to maintain efficient and effective operations;
• Understanding and driving performance improvements within delivery operations;
• Working with relevant stakeholders to determine improvement strategies to achieve company and role-based objectives;
• Undertaking administrative duties related to the role;
• Undertaking any appropriate project work;
• Maintaining quality standards and your departments’ requirements for maintaining accreditations;
• Complying with your departments’ HR requirements;
• Undertaking any appropriate project work.

Full training will be given to the successful candidate, however, to apply for this role you MUST have ALL the key attributes described below:
• Strong communication and negotiating skills;
• Superior organisation and planning skills;
• A mature, meticulous and dedicated attitude towards work;
• The ability to stay calm under pressure and work accurately and efficiently under strict deadlines;
• The ability to manage constantly changing demands, with the understanding that a flexible outlook in terms of working hours is needed to be successful in the role;
• The ability to confidently plan and manage own work load and work using own initiative;
• The ability to analyse and solve problems;
• A strong commercial acumen;
• A background in or relating to providing customer services.

37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 08.00 am to 4.30 pm – but requires a flexible approach to meet the demands of the business
