I am hiring for the post of a Data Engineer and Developer within a local authority's Health care and Adult Commissioning division. You are supposed to work remotely within the Business Intelligence unit and report to BI manager. You should be an expert on SQL, SSRS, SSAS, QlikView, Sharepoint Server, Business Objects, BI Stack and related software.

An ideal candidate should have adequate knowledge of liquid logic and itrent. Key responsibilities of the role include:

* Be the council's subject matter expert on managing data. Develop and implement strategies to translate business requirements and models into feasible designs to ensure that business needs are met.
* Implement and manage data flows to connect operational systems, data for analytic and BI systems, document source-to-target mapping and re-engineer manual data flows to enable scaling and repeatable use, support the build of data streaming systems.
* Write ETL scripts and code to make sure the ETL process performs optimally. Lead on SQL, including queries, reports and stored procedures. Analyse and improve performance of existing solutions.
* Identify areas for data quality improvements and resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.
* Work closely with the business, the technology team and third party IT suppliers to ensure alignment of master data rules and the operations of the application meet all requirements.
* Securing the development of systems in conjunction with the BI Service Manager and contribute to the management and development of appropriate of systems to ensure information needs are met.
* Develop business intelligence reports that can be re-used, and build accessible data for analysis. Develop BI dashboards and support the system requirements needed to develop new dashboards and translate business requirements from the business and analysts into specifications for new solutions, including advanced use of Excel to replicate existing excel-based reports into Qlikview.
