This is a work from home role so you can apply regardless of wherever you live in England. It is a senior leadership position within the Public Health and Wellbeing Department. The position holder will provide additional strategic leadership in the local council's response to Covid-19. You will lead key areas of delivery of the council's Local Outbreak Control Plan and wider response to the public health impacts of the pandemic. You will also provide leadership for broader, related health protection responsibilities. The post holder will be required to work across the health and social care system, working in collaboration and building relationships with national, regional and local organisations and communities to improve and protect health.
* An ideal candidate should have a successful track record and background of consistent achievement as a senior manager including commissioning, strategic management of transformation programmes, operational performance and financial budgets; and should be:
* Able to manage and develop individuals and teams, including recruitment and selection, work planning, work allocation, appraisal and development, performance, motivation and leadership.
* Able to provide visible and visionary leadership that inspires employee's to meet organisational challenges and maximises employee's personal potential.
* Able to procure and commission products, equipment, services, systems and facilities.
* Able to undertake (non-professional) financial/budget/cost centre management including, at the highest level, divisional/departmental/strategic financial management.
* High level of understanding of epidemiology and statistics, public health practice, health promotion, health economics and health care evaluation.
* Able to demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of and empathy with the legislation impacting upon Adult's Services Inc Care Act, Mental Health Act.
* have an understanding of NHS
