*PERFECT POSITION FOR UNI/COLLEGE LEAVERS WANTING TO BUILD A CAREER IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY*

Our manufacturing and installation company are searching for semi-skilled field operative with carpentry skills and qualifications to work out of our Ramsgate office (but travel to site). IMI Ltd primarily works in metalwork and woodwork manufacture and installation for the elevator and escalator industry.

We are looking for a hardworking and ambitious professional, who has experience in carpentry and joinery through qualifications/apprentiship or previous onsite experience. This work involves using finishes manufactured by IMI or free issue, and completing this from technical drawings following instructions precisely, double-checking your own work, while maintaining high standards of safety and quality are all important aspects also.

You will be required to undertake training (which IMI pay for), which will allow you to access and work on some of the sites (for example EOR 202 lift access/egress, safety harness, etc.)

IMI Ltd prides itself on its workmanship and professional attitude, and you will be representative of the company whilst on site. Therefore, we expect you not only to follow all safety rules, but also conduct yourself in a manner which does not detriment IMI’s high standards.

You will report directly to an Installation Manager, but you will need close working relationships with the Surveyors and Production Manager.

You will be required to drive an IMI van for this role, so a safe and high standard of driving will also be required

• Previous experience in a trade is preferred and qualifications in carpentry/joinery is essential
• Previous experience in working in the lift/escalator industry is preferable but not essential
• EOR 202/204 is preferable but not essential as training can be provided
• Ability to work on your feet all day
• Some lifting will be required, so a reasonable physical capability is expected
• Full UK driving licence is essential

Travel:
Please note, this position involves travelling to sites in and around London, a van will be provided (If you live in and around South East Kent) and you will usually be with another person, site work hours are 7am - 3.30pm. Travelling time is not included within the pay hours.
