Pinkys Beauty Ltd is an award-winning salon based in Hempstead. We are looking for the Rizzo to our Pink Lady team in the role of a Salon Manager! Are you a dynamic, highly motivated and organised individual, with a passion for delivering the highest standard of customer service to our clients? This could be the perfect job for you….
Candidates must have an understanding and ideally a strong background in the beauty industry. You must have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to lead a team of Pink Ladies and T Birds. We need someone who can bring warmth, character and individuality to our salon whilst being able to motivate and nurture our team. A background or knowledge of the marketing world would also be beneficial as part of your role will be to ensure the Pinkys name is seen far and wide.
The post must be full time as we need our Rizzo to be able to oversee the day to day running of the salon. Job share is unfortunately not an option on this occasion.

JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Beauty Salon Manager
HOURS: 42 hr/week
SALARY: £24.000K-£26,000K dependant on experience. Phone allowance.
Company laptop. Performance related bonus

REPORTS TO: Katie Pickett – Salon Director
RESPONSIBLE FOR: The salon manager is responsible for leading, monitoring, and analyse the daily operations of the salon establishment under their care. They are responsible for sustaining a healthy, positive team environment, and ensuring that service operations are delivered smoothly. The salon managers will also handle employee scheduling to ensure there are enough service providers to meet customer demand and the salon is always staffed appropriately . They will be available to undertake any role that the Salon Director deems necessary for daily running.
The salon manager is solely responsible for reporting back to the Salon Director.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Maintain efficient and effective communication and working relationships with all members of staff and contractors
Lead and manage any salon complaints
Assist with orientation programmes which familiarise new members of staff with the salon
Act as an ambassador for the salon at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Main tasks/overview of responsibilities – Not limited to
1. Monitor and maintain health, safety and security of self and others in own work area
2. Contribute to the development of the salon: including but not limited to, social media profiling and updates, attendance of any trade shows, researching ongoing product development and treatments with a view to ensure the salon is maintaining an up to date profile as the leading salon in Kent.
3. Contribute to quality improvement for products and services
4. Ensure own actions promote quality and alert other to quality issues. Support people's equality, diversity and rights. Ensuring that the Pinkys customer experience is upheld
5. Ensuring all necessary staff are appropriately risk assessed in the workplace
6. Lead others in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice
7. Plan, allocate, assess and provide feedback to team members
8. Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and /or financial resource. This includes stock rotation, ordering
9. Be responsible of ensuring that all staffs training, and health and safety records are up to date
10. Be responsible for staff development and opportunities
11. Ensuring the quality of work from all staff is at the appropriate standard
12. Be responsible for optimisation of staff performance and motivation. The salon manager should lead in order to cultivate a quality team and maximize their staff’s potential. Salon manager will set individual team member goals and objectives.
13. Develop, in line with salon director company policies including sickness, holiday, complaints etc
14. Ensure staff adhere to company policies
15. Maximise salon potential in terms of capacity and turnover
16. Build upon the salon’s client base. Encourage customer retention and increase repeat visits from clients. Track and review client retention data and adjust the company’s service strategy, as necessary.
17. Implement marketing activities and carry out a promotional calendar to increase sales productivity.
18. Responsible for recruiting and fully staffing the salon. Hiring and training new team members. Identify strengths and weaknesses in personnel needs and help develop their skills.
Audit
1. To participate in audit/benchmarking within the area of the beauty field by supporting the introduction of a change in practice if indicated
2. To contribute effectively to evaluation studies (e.g. client satisfaction surveys)
3. To re-evaluate following any change to ensure that improvements have been made
4. Ensuring any audit results are followed through with personal developments or further training with staff if appropriate
Equality and Diversity
1. To recognise the importance of people’s rights and interpret them in a way that is consistent with trust procedures, policies and legislation
2. To challenge behaviour that infringes the rights of others, and be an advocate to women and their families

1. Responsible for day to day supervision, allocation and co-ordination of staff
2. To lead a team whilst assuming responsibility and control of the salon. Deputising to salon director
3. To participate in the appraisals of staff
4. To identify, report and address poor performance issues
5. To diffuse challenging behaviour, ensuring that the situation is managed in a sensitive way.
6. Report any incidents/complaints or accidents that cannot be dealt with to the salon director and assist/support in the investigation and resolution of the same.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
