£9.77per hour inclusive of holiday pay. Weekends increased rates.

Overview of the position

As a supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit cleaners for Rochester Prison, Rochester Kent. This is a short-term Temporary Contract, with no end date. The rate is £9.77 per hour. inclusive of Holiday pay.
Based on 37 - 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8am - 3/4pm. With weekends as well paid at increased rates.

The cleaner role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working. Always in demand, you could benefit from long-term contracts and there is also potential, once trained, to work in other prisons both locally and nationally. You must be local to the prison or have your own transport. Purpose of the Cleaner role

As part of the Facilities & Waste Disposal team you will be responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness of non-prisoner areas, but there could be occasions that you see prisoners during the day.

Previous cleaning experience is essential for this role.

The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Security Clearance required:

All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 3 weeks. You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address. All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.
