My client, a leading manufacturing business based in South-East London, is looking to hire an HR Director.  Due to a restructure within the organisation, my client is looking to recruit a highly-skilled HR Director that can lead the business through a number of projects and to play an active part in the business achieving their 5-year growth plans, by outlining and deploying a robust HR strategy.

Whilst your role will be strategic, there will also be a strong emphasis for the HR Director to have a hands-on approach and it is vital that you demonstrate these capabilities.

If you are an experienced HR Director from within the manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, food, FMCG or related sectors then this could be an exciting next step.

The role of the HR Director will be as follows:

- Reporting directly to the CEO you will be responsible for managing a small team of HR professionals and accountable for c 950+ employees across the business
- To ensure human resources programs and initiatives are effective, efficient and aligned with the overall business and group strategy
- Dealing with employee grievances, disputes and supporting employee development as well as invoking disciplinary actions when required
- Outline HR strategies that support the business objectives, forecasting staffing needs, mitigating risk, and structuring benefit packages
- You will also be accountable for managing HR budgets, designing accountability mechanism and overseeing overall employment needs
- Supporting strategic objectives, an overview of the entire organization and corporate plans for a variety of HR matters
- Work with internal and group stakeholders to outline the best structure, roles & responsibilities, updated job descriptions, attraction and retention projects
- Developing, improving and implementing human resources policies
- Improve HR processes, systems, tactics and implement strategies that support the growth, improve morale and employee retention
- Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations
- Designing and directing training programs across the entire business

The ideal HR Director will have a combination of the following:

- A hands-on and experienced HR Director or Head of HR
- Experienced working within manufacturing, engineering, automotive, aerospace, food, FMCG or related sectors
- Experienced in managing HR functions for medium to large teams - 500+ personnel
- A qualification such as CIPD level 7, Bachelors or Master`s in human resources management
- Possess a high work ethic and excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of labour regulations, HR practices and strategic thinking abilities is essential
- Strong organisation and interpersonal skills whilst having the ability to work in an environment with diverse cultures
- Strong leadership expertise, the strength of character, people`s person and success-driven
