We are recruiting for a new employee.
We are a family run haulage company from Sittingbourne, Kent. We have a fleet of vehicles ranging from small vans to 7.5t currently however we are in the process of increasing our fleet to obtain 18T vehicles this year. An applicant that has a 7.5T, Class 2 or higher would be desirable but this is not completely necessary. CPC and Digi card is also required if you have a 7.5T or higher. A car licence is necessary.
The position that we are seeking applicants for will be for a driver that will also be trained in other areas of the business over time. The employee will provide cover to the traffic office manager and run the traffic office when the manger is not at work. When the traffic office manager is working the recruit would be driving.
A basic knowledge of Excel and other Windows programmes is required. A knowledge of the transport and haulage industry is also required.
The applicant must be well organised and be able to work calmly under pressure.
The majority of the working week that this position would be for will be that of a driver however this job has the potential to grow for the right person.
We are not part of a pallet network and we do not do multi drop. Most of our loads a full dedicated loads. As we are FORS Silver a lot of our work takes us to London. We are currently going through the process to obtain GOLD.
We tend to have an element of handball on some jobs, but not all.
Start times vary, our first delivery is normally 8am so we have to start work early enough to meet that. Sometimes its local other times its further away so an earlier start would be required.
We operate over 7 days however most of the time its Monday - Friday
The salary will be dependent on experience and qualifications.
Over £26k basic (Higher when we have an 18T if your class 2) + Overtime + Benefits + Bonuses if you are able to drive 7.5T or above. Slightly less if you have a car licence. Enhancement when covering the traffic office
