We are seeking an Experienced Quality Controller to work on a permanent basis for our client in Medway City Estate
The hours of work are 05:45 - 18:00 working on a 4 days on and 4 days off basis
Salary £18.000
Job Overview
To ensure the product leaves the site according to its specification
To efficiently carry out any assigned task or duty
To be flexible when required for the good of the business
To understand and contribute to achieving the goals of the business
Tasks and Responsibilities
To ensure the safety of oneself and others at all times
To ensure the products are manufactured to the correct specification and report any deviations to both Production and Quality Management
To maintain all finished product specification are kept up to date and all changes are correctly communicated to the appropriate departments
To ensure all date codes and labelling of packs and boxes are accurate, readable and according to customer requirements
To carry out product tractability tests when appropriate
To carry out regular line checks to ensure the quality of finished goods is to the specification
To maintain the correct product status on AWAC to ensure all products/pallets on hold are correctly managed and treated appropriately
To maintain the appropriate level of retained samples of daily production in the correct conditions and ensure they are regularly checked for quality defects
To conduct accelerated tests on finished goods
To ensure all the paperwork is completed properly, accurately and on time and filled for easy access
Help and assist in the training of others and identify ones own training needs
To carry out any other task in connection with the department to support the business needs
Working within a team to cover all factory and associated areas and cover other team members when absent
Skills and Experience
Previous food handling experience within a manufacturing environments
Intermediate certificate in food hygiene
An understanding of HACCP principles
Numerate and literate and able to follow instructions
Ability to work on own initiative and individually as well as part of a team
Basic IT skills
