Rapport Housing and Care has an exciting new employment opportunity for a Domiciliary Care Worker to undertake a guaranteed 20 hours per week contract supporting over 55s with care needs across 4 locations in Kent.

The post holders principal responsibilities will include travelling between our Extra Care schemes and providing care and support to individuals in their own apartments, in keeping with their individually tailored care plans. *Mileage will be paid for travelling between the schemes but upon arrival all care is delivered under one roof, however due to the schemes locations it is essential that the post holder is a car driver with their own vehicle.

The ideal Domiciliary Care Worker will demonstrate

o A caring and compassionate approach
o Patience and understanding of older people
o Evidence of competence to undertake the post
o Basic care competencies in the voluntary, public or private sectors
o Strong commitment to the provision of non-discriminatory care and to providing excellence
o Willingness to undertake training
o Efficient and effective administrative skills
o Strong customer focus
o Honesty, trustworthiness, reliability and respectfulness.
o An understanding of Health and Safety
o Good communication and negotiation skills with different groups, e.g. staff, residents, local community
o Understanding of different values / cultures of residents and staff
o Team working skills
o Good timekeeping skills
o Professionalism


The ideal Domiciliary Care Worker will have the ability to:

o Play an active role in creating a good environment
o Prioritise their work
o Be aware of the support needed by others, consider how they can support them and encourage and support them
o Recognise and work to meet where possible the diverse and unique needs of each tenant
o Train for and take on additional responsibilities
o Listen carefully and attentively
o Respect the dignity and privacy of all those they come into contact with
o Apply their knowledge and training in the workplace
o Uphold the policies and procedures of The Organisation
