The Scheme has a vacancy for a Housing Support Worker to be responsible for the delivery of the Wellbeing Service (24 hour emergency response service) during their contracted hours.
The post holders principal responsibilities include responding to emergency calls from tenants and leaseholders, supporting individual tenants and leaseholders to sustain their tenancies/leases and ensuring the scheme is safe.
The ideal Housing Support Worker will demonstrate

o Evidence of competence to undertake the post
o Housing (or similar) experience in the voluntary, public or private sectors
o Strong commitment to non-discriminatory housing services and to providing excellence
o Willingness to undertake training

o An understanding of Health and Safety
o Good IT skills, so they can facilitate and support improvements to services, good communications and useful Management Information
o Good communication and negotiation skills with different groups, e.g. staff, residents, local community
o Understanding of different values / cultures of residents and staff
o Team working skills
o Good timekeeping skills
The ideal Housing Support Worker will have the ability to:
o Play an active role in creating a good environment

o Be aware of the support needed by others, consider how they can support them and encourage and support them
o Recognise and work to meet where possible the diverse and unique needs of each tenant

o Train for and take on additional responsibilities
