My Client is looking for a Accounts Assistant to join their team on the outskirts of Maidstone. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within a supportive company.
Duties
• Accurate data entry – being able to process 300+ invoices accurately and promptly
• Reconciling contractor invoices against internal time recording system
• Matching invoices to purchase orders
• Reviewing purchase order values against total invoices
• Reconciliation of supplier statements
• Maintaining supplier accounts and setting up of new suppliers
• Investigating purchase ledger queries
• Liaising with management accountants to inform of any known costs that have not been invoiced at month end for accrual purposes
• Running of Aged Creditor Reports and processing payment runs
• Processing staff expenses
• Maintaining Cashflow Forecasts
• Adhoc cost reports for management
• Reviewing and improving current processes
Key skills
• Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to self-check work
• High level of communication – confidence with writing and sending emails internally and externally
• 2 years+ experience in Purchase Ledger/Accounts Assistant role
• Experience of project accounting (desirable but not essential)
• Experience with contractors and processing contractor invoices (desirable but not essential)
• Understanding of accruals and prepayments
• Understanding of cost centres
• Basic knowledge of VAT
• Experience in accounting software
