Leading Edge Labels & Packaging is an award-winning state of the art UV Flexo Label & Film Printer based in Kent offering a wide range of innovative packaging solutions to large retail and blue-chip companies globally. With significant ambitions for growth, we are looking for an individual to join our Finance department, starting as soon as possible.
The Role
The role requires a hands on and experienced Financial Controller to lead a finance team of 3 individuals under the direction of the Finance Director. It will require an organised, accurate and level headed individual to ensure that the finance /payroll functions are undertaken efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
• Lead a team of 3 people
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of information for monthly board meetings
• Preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax calculations
• Running annual audit
• Vat returns/intrastat reporting
• Oversee Daily Cash management
• Oversee Purchase ledger and Sales Ledger functions
• Payroll preparation and sign off
• Adhoc analysis for Internal and External stakeholders
• Monthly stock valuation
• Posting Journals
• Balance sheet reconciliations
The post holder may be required from time to time to undertake duties within the department as may be reasonably expected, without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed. This may include dealing with a range of stakeholders both internal and external.
Competencies
• A team player who is positive, friendly, approachable, flexible and hard working.
• Previous experience of people management.
• Computer literate – experience in Microsoft Office and Financial Systems essential.
• Possesses a clear understanding of both accountability and confidentiality.
• The ability to work to deadlines is essential, ensuring confidentiality of appropriate material and exercising tact.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to various levels within the business and wider external contacts.
• Qualified/part qualified accountant with AAT qualifications as a minimum
• Confident using Excel
Package
Salary negotiable depending on skills and experience, plus monthly performance bonus and company pension scheme.
